The Edible Peace Patch Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of sustainable urban agriculture, healthy food systems, experiential education and economic opportunity in St. Petersburg.

As part of their mission, the organization has installed schoolyard gardens at several elementary schools in south St. Pete, with plans to expand their mission with help from the community.

One opportunity to support the project is through Farmraiser 2013, October 27, at the Mahaffey Theatre in downtown St. Pete. Tyson Grant, head chef and partner at the Parkshore Grill, will cook up tapas using produce from the gardens and recipes from the Fit4Life program at All Children’s Hospital.

Missed the event? The organization has regular volunteer opportunities in the gardens. Dig in!
